Kids Art Workshop
We were delighted to host the School Holiday Visual Arts Programme, which was a week long Visual Arts Workshop. This programme aimed to provide school going children with exciting Art educational experiences.
They were exposed to various mediums and the study of art history. This workshop was designed to ignite their imagination and give children an opportunity to engage in visual arts education. Led by seasoned professionals, this hands-on experience guided them through creative artistic techniques.
This workshop was open to students from Primary and High Schools.
Bag Factory in association with Morris Isaacson Centre for Music hosting the school holiday programme at their respective locations in Jabavu, Soweto and in Newtown.
We would like to thank Mami Khumalo and Dathini Mzayiya, who both facilitated in Soweto at Morris Isaacson Centre for Music (MICM) with the support of Director Lungile Zaphi and her wonderful team. Thank you to Boitumelo Motau and Senzeni Marasela for facilitating the workshop at Bag Factory.
It was an eventful time filled with curious minds and happy feet, making our respective spaces their studio for a week.
Thank you to Morris Isaacson Centre for Music (MICM) for taking this programme a step further and hosting an exhibition to showcase the work of their young aspirant artists. The exhibition in Soweto was a success with an intimate fusion of art students creating work in response to the musical instruments that surrounded their temporary studio space.
This project was made possible through the support of the Department of Sports, Arts & Culture. Republic of South Africa
