EXHIBITION
'from present to pivot: a journey through new contemporary painting strategies'
16 0CT 2021
Kalashnikovv Gallery and the Bag Factory are excited to invite you to a collaborative exhibition that aims to blur the lines between experimental studio practice and the white cube Gallery space.
Showcasing established and emerging contemporary artists chosen for their ability to communicate the changes in the world since the outbreak of COVID 19. While it is vital to look at where we are now and what we as a society have been through in recent months, the featured artists have been selected mainly for their ability to see beyond the “now” and begin the process of defining the future that we all collectively face.
Pivoting from one mode of existence to the other as well as moving between historically recognised painting techniques and new innovations that challenge the age-old medium of paint. Each artist has their own unique point of departure and relaying their chosen conceptual frameworks, be it with the actual medium of paint or with an approach that channels the mentality of visual layering and application.
