Join us for Atomic Peace, a group exhibition curated by Chumisa Ndakisa, recipient of the recipient of the Bag Factory 2017 Curatorial Development Programme.
Opening : Wednesday 19 July 2017 6pm
Atomic Peace discusses the meeting of spiritual unrest and mental disorder, and explores the meanings of alternative healing and contemporary coping mechanisms. It reminds the viewer that their anxieties are their neighbour’s anxieties.
The exhibition is described as strangely familiar, consolingly jarring, intuitive and pyschedelic.
The title of the exhibition borrows from Alice Coltrane’s song of the same title, Atomic Peace.
