I
enjoy looking at life as though I am looking through
a kaleidoscope of the familiar and the new. Everything
is in constant flux. A change in position, theory, or
attitude can, in the blink of an eyelid, magically change
'old' ideas without discarding them. The contrast between
change and stability, animate and inanimate, brings
about a continuing organic and spiritual flux.
I learn new things through personal introspection and
communication with others. The old and the new interlace
my works, layering knowledge and ignorance, wisdom and
foolishness, power and helplessness, meanness and extravagance,
muteness and boldness. I explore and blend these layers
by turning the kaleidoscope and see what it presents
to me.
